my sony vaio laptop was running slower, taking a long time to load webpages etc. so i performed a system scan with malwarebytes anti-malware. it said 2 items were quarantined and I chose to remove them. as soon as I clicked 'remove' my computer showed the windows screen that said shutting down as if I had initiated that. I turned it back on and a popup window appeared saying that my computer had numerous items needing repair and it was performing the necessary tasks to fix. may take several...

You'll have to bear with me because I'm a relative "newbie." Can anyone say which engines Zemana AntiMalware Premium uses? Their website states, in part, "Zemana AntiMalware adds additional layers of security. With it's real time protection, for fast and efficent scanning, it makes sure that you are protected..."

I'm sure it is, but I've got to ask, has the realtime protection component of it been tested?

So the major selling point of Webroot is their claim to monitor everything the infection does and revert it once it's found that the file is malware.
That is their defense for less than stellar detection. Now, has anyone actually tested those claims? Also the claims that the malware won't be able to communicate out or grab your keystrokes even if it's not yet identified as being a malware?

is it wrong to uninstall and install different security program

i mean if i install program and after awhile a wanted to change it if i used it's removal tool and installed new program is it ok or the old program may have some left over and cause problem ?

Grats to the devs on being picked up by Sophos, that's great news and I am glad you are being recognized for your efforts.

Selfish question I know, but as the days of my trial of HitmanPro tick towards the end, I am wondering if there might be a HitmanPro sale/deal this holiday season?

I would guess normally there would be, but since they have been purchased by Sophos, I am guessing all bets are off and I don't know if I even were to buy HitmanPro today the money would go to the original...
