When we join Malwaretips we are asked if our Computer Security Knowledge is Basic, Medium, or Advanced.
This seems like an easy question, as it has only 3 choices to pick from....but comparing ones level of Computer Security knowledge to the general population can be trickier than it first appears.

With this in mind I have created a Poll in order for MT members to show their own level of knowledge and to find out the knowledge base of MT members as a whole.

Below is a guide to indicate...

New attack bypasses HTTPS protection on Macs, Windows, and Linux

A key guarantee provided by HTTPS encryption is that the addresses of visited websites aren't visible to attackers who may be monitoring an end user's network traffic. Now, researchers have devised an attack that breaks this protection.

The attack can be carried out by operators of just about any type of network, including public Wi-Fi networks, which arguably are the places where Web surfers need HTTPS the most. It works by abusing a feature known as WPAD—short for...

Bastille Networks researcher Marc Newlin has discovered a set of security vulnerabilities in low-cost wireless keyboards that could be exploited to collect all passwords, security questions, sensitive personal, bank account and payment card info users input through them.

The problem with the vulnerable keyboards is that they don’t encrypt the keystroke data before they transmit it wirelessly to the USB dongle, and that’s...

The chilling truth about cybercriminals — from a paid hacker

If you think companies and individuals have your data under lock and key, then think again. With hackers becoming more sophisticated and rarely ever getting caught, we'll likely see more and more breaches in the future.

That's at least according to Billy Rios, a longtime San Francisco-based "white-hat hacker," who gets hired by companies to break into their systems and point out security flaws. His clients? Microsoft, Google and the Pentagon, to name just a few.

He learned how to...

HMP.A Licensing

HMP.A does not seem to have a policy of allowing users to migrate a license from a PC / laptop that is being decommissioned to a new PC / laptop.
I have 3 pc license and one of these is no longer in use.
However i am unable to migrate it's license to a new PC i have bought.
Seems a real shame considering the license is still good for a couple more years.
